Kai was formed by a creative partnership between a chef and a designer. Together with our team we provide a genuinely bespoke service, from private parties to corporate events. Our flawless reputation in the event industry has largely grown by word of mouth and can boast many loyal customers.
How we do it & why we do it
Respect for food & the land it grows on is an integral part of our ethos & our cultural heritage. We believe in giving back as much as we take out to keep balance & harmony. We are able to do our bit by recycling our bottles & paper, as well as our food waste by using ELCRP recycling partnership services. And our cooking oil gets converted to fuel by Footprint Fuels.
Our seasonal menus are created by using locally sourced ingredients, our eggs are free range & we use organic produce when requested. Fair trade tea, coffee & sugar are served at Kai events.
Food
The name Kai means food in Maori and our Pacific Rim background naturally influences, but does not limit our culinary style. With many years of experience and creative flair our chefs can produce perfectly executed classics as well as stunning contemporary dishes, to suit any occasion.
Drink
Our wine menu has been specially designed to compliment our menus and provide excellent quality, matched with affordability and variety.
Whether it is a revitalising smoothie at breakfast or a tantalising cocktail in the evening, Kai bar staff will keep the drink flowing to keep your guests smiling.
